In a setback to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, internet entrepreneurs Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss have reopened their case against Facebook, this time suing Facebook for $1 billion. The decision came about after their a certain BJP leader joined the twins’ legal team – Subramanian Swamy.
“PTs: Uncovered new evidence that MZ copied idea of FB from Winklevoss twins. Already filed motion to reopen lawsuit. Get ready to go to jail, MZ,” Swamy tweeted early this morning.
This is the second time in 3 days that Facebook and Swamy have had a run in. Only two days back, Swamy threatened to sue Facebook for not removing a page parodying Swamy, after which Facebook mistakenly deleted Swamy’s page instead.
“Mark called up Dr. Swamy to apologize for the faux pas, and even offered to declare that his ancestors were Hindus, but Dr. Swamy was in no mood to relent. He kept screaming ‘Where is my page, you liar! Show me the page, you liar!’ forcing Mark to hang up in panic,” said Sylvie Rodgers, a spokesperson for Facebook.
The Winklevoss twins, meanwhile, are getting along very well with Swamy. The duo visited Dr. Swamy at his Delhi residence along with other Swamy Army members and posed for selfies. “Dr. Swamy rocks! He has a sterling history of going after powerful crooks, and never lets go once he’s on their tail. I’m especially looking forward to all the acronyms and names he will soon coin for Mark!” gushed Cameron Winklevoss.
Swamy too reciprocated the gesture in his inimitable style. “By the power vested in me, I hereby appoint Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss as Brahmins, since they have Brahminical gunas,” he tweeted.
