Finally relaxing after a long and bitter campaign, Kejriwal went to watch Baby along with his closest AAP aides, but his relief pales in comparison to that of another man, Lt Governor Najeeb Jung. The erstwhile acting head of Delhi left for Hawaii hours after most Exit Polls predicted an outright AAP victory.
“I don’t know what came over him. One moment he was sitting at the edge of his seat watching the news, biting his fingernails. The next minute he started jumping up and down like a crazy man, then rushed into his room, shoved a few clothes into a handbag and fled out of the house,” said a bewildered Mrs. Jung.
The Lt Governor was later clicked in Hawaii, wearing shorts and a floral shirt, and checking out the birds while sipping on a martini.
“Goodbye to this thankless job! Woohooo!” screamed Jung, when The UnReal Times rang him up for a quote. “For a while, the opinion poll projections and the way the campaign was going really worried me. I thought we’ll end up with another hung house and I’ll end up governing it for another few months getting called Ambani agent, Modi agent and what not. But the Exit Polls put paid to all that. And when Today’s Chanakya predicted a decisive majority, I knew my ordeal was over!”
“Now Arvind can sit on the CM chair and govern that dumb state while I sit on this hammock and while away my time” Jung signed off.
Despite the exit polls projections, Jung still remained the target of the Aam Aadmi Party, even after he reached Hawaii. “The Jung sud answer who paid for the Hawala vacation !!! Is it deliberate holiday to spend black money !!!” tweeted AAP spokesperson, The Ashutosh, before party convenor Arvind Kejriwal had to step in to calm him down. “Rehne de yaar Ashu (Leave it). The election is over. Take a break from Twitter,” Kejriwal apparently said.
