In a last ditch attempt to merge before the Bihar elections, the leaders of Janata Parivar decided to catch a show of Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron in a bid to learn how to put aside their differences and come together to work as a team.

“Just like the superheroes in Avengers, we too are a bunch of superhuman individuals, each a hero in his own right, capable of taking on any villain on his day,” said Mulayam Singh Yadav. “But today, our country is facing a grave threat to its very survival, beset as it is by the great evil, Narendra Modi. We, the real life Avengers, must put aside our individual egos and agendas to come together and save the world. And what better way to learn to do that than watch the original Avengers!”

Sufficiently motivated by loud proclamations of Modi’s doom, the chuffed up leaders swaggered into the movie hall, seconds before the matinee show was about to begin.

Two hours later, they emerged, looking none too impressed with what they saw.

Saala, the whole movie was in English. Everything flew over my head,” grumbled Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Abhay Chautala was horrified by Scarlett Johansson’s wardrobe choices. “Just didn’t like the clothes Black Widow was wearing. What’s with those figure hugging leather pants? Is this how an adarsh woman dresses?” he demanded, shaking his head.

Nitish Kumar, on the other hand, complained that none of the superheroes wore a skull cap. “The green Hulk was the only saving grace,” he said, making a thumbs down gesture with his hand.

The only Janata Parivar leader who did not make a critical comment about the movie was former PM Deve Gowda. “What movie?” he drawled, and let out a massive yawn. “I slept through it.”
