India’s king of kissing, Emraan Hashmi, came down heavily on the censor board for cutting kissing scenes in the eagerly awaited Bond flick, Spectre. The censor board has reportedly objected to the excessive duration of the smooching scenes between Daniel Craig and the oldest Bond girl ever, the luscious Monica Belluci, cutting them by a whopping 50%!!
Hashmi, just like many others, is eagerly waiting to catch the Bond flick but now he’s not sure. “You see, I am also a leading professional kisser in addition to being a die-hard Bond fan,” a disappointed Hashmi told The UnReal Times. “So in addition to the action scenes, the Aston Martin and the Bond one-liners, I was very eager to check out the kissing scenes so that I could keep myself abreast of what is state of the art in this department. But the Censor Board has ruined it for me.”
Hashmi said he will now have to fly to London instead to see the movie or download the uncensored version on Torrents. “It will have to be the latter, I suppose. I’m a little cash starved at the minute,” a glum Hashmi added.
“What is so bad about Bond enjoying an extended moment of affection with his lady friend, yaar?” Hashmi wondered. “After all, they are spreading the message of love, not hate. I can understand the board objecting to violent scenes but why cut a tender moment like this? Why display intolerance for this as well?”
Hashmi said he too wants to return something to protest the board’s shocking intolerance. “Unfortunately, I am not in the league of the Khans or even Saif bhai. So I don’t have any major awards like a Padma Shri or Filmfare. Not even a Stardust award. So the only thing I can return in protest is the PVR ticket I had booked to watch Spectre on the big screen,” the serial kisser trailed off.
