Arvind Kejriwal was spotted in the wee hours of dawn yesterday, lovingly holding a iPhone 6 plus in one hand and peering at it with glee. The news has sent shock waves through AAP ranks. “This is even more shocking than Kejri sir initially moving into a fancy five bedroom duplex apartment,” one AAP activist said, disbelief and disappointment writ large all over his face. “Never knew Kejri sir too has succumbed to this fetish of owning these ridiculously expensive Apple products,” he howled, tears poring down his face.
The news spread like wild fire, giving AAP detractors a field day. “So Mango Man turns into Apple man,” sneered Sanjay Jha, never one to lose an opportunity to crack execrable puns. “I always said I was an upper middle class aadmi, not aam aadmi, but even I own only a Samsung Galaxy Grand, yaar,” was the scornful observation of Arvinder Singh Lovely, Delhi Congress leader. “AAP or APPLE,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra quipped. A section of AAP’s cybercell even wanted to trend #YoKejriwalsoHonest before cybercell head Dilip Pandey read out the riot act.
Soon wild rumours began to circulate that Kejriwal is a closet Apple junkie, owning an iPad, an iMac and that he has also pre-ordered the Apple watch from Amazon, forcing the AAP leader to tweet a series of clarifications:

The latest tweet has left the AAP camp divided with ultra orthodox AAP activists insisting that Arvind make do with a Rs. 200 base price super plain vanilla Nokia model while more pragmatic cadre maintaining that in today’s day and age Arvind needs a basic smartphone at the very least.
AAP may conduct a SMS poll to determine whether Arvind should buy a Micromax Bolt, priced at Rs.6000, or a Karbonn Smart A26, priced at a more modest Rs 5000, and settle the controversy.
