Finally breaking his silence, an unusually combative Dr Manmohan Singh tore into former auditor Vinod Rai for trying to have his cake and eat it too. “First he had a jolly good time at great cost to my image by authoring those CAG and Coal reports. Now he wants to make money off it too by foraying into the world of literature!!! The least he can do is give me a cut from the royalties for all the good copy I have provided him over the last 5 years,” Dr Singh hissed.
Dr Singh said it is very frustrating that now former bureaucrats are making a quick buck out of the UPA scams, this time honestly but at his expense once again. “It’s like Act Two of the UPA scam saga. The Rajas and Kalmadis raked in the moolah as I watched silently in Act I. Now, in Act II, these Barus and Rais want to bag a second windfall, once again under my eyes. BUT THIS TIME I WON’T BE SILENT. I DEMAND MY SHARE,” Dr Singh screamed, glowering with rage.
What has added to Dr Singh’s consternation is that his own daughter’s book on the romance between Dr Manmohan Singh and Gursharan, “Strictly Personal, Manmohan & Gursharan”, sunk like a stone. “We had warned the Singhs that no one cares a rat’s ass about Dr Singh’s personal life and that the book would flop unless Daman sprinkled it with some tidbits about the 2G, CWG and Coal scams,” Penguin India head, Chiki, told The UnReal Times. “That’s where the big bucks are, yaa. But Daman simply didn’t listen. I feel sorry for them. Everyone is making money off the Singhs except the Singhs,” she observed.
In related news, The UnReal Times refused to publish an article by Ahmed Patel titled “Sonia unhappy that Dr Singh was in the know-how about the 2G scam but did not act”. “Even we have some standards of veracity. We advised Ahmed that Times of India might be a better platform for his piece,” the Unreal editorial team said.
