BJP leader Yogi Adityanath lashed out at George Clooney for marrying long time fiancé, Amal Alamuddin, at a private ceremony in Venice, calling it an instance of “international love jihad”. “I always maintained that love jihad was a pressing national issue, having originated in Kerala and then spread to Western UP. But now it seems love jihad has spread its tentacles to Hollywood as well,” the MP from Gorakhpur observed, blasting the Obama administration for turning a blind eye to the problem.
Yogi wondered why Clooney only chose to settle down with Amal when he had dated so many gorgeous woman in the past. “There is something more to it than meets the eye, man. It does not fit the usual patterns of Clooney’s romance of dating a gorgeous woman and then dumping her unceremoniously to move on to a fresh conquest. Also, the wedding ceremony was advanced by two days and conducted under great secrecy. Why are there so few pics of the wedding ceremony despite the event attracting worldwide attention?” Yogi wondered.
Yogi said in many ways he feels sorry for George Clooney, a “quintessentially naive American farm boy from rural Kentucky, ignorant of the outside world and its sinister politics.” “In love jihad, one partner, generally on the dumber side, is swept away by the romance of it all into cloud cuckoo land. The other partner, in contrast, is shrewd and firmly grounded in pursuit of a larger political agenda. Clooney is a University of Cincinnati dropout, Amal is an Oxford graduate. I rest my case,” Yogi reasoned.
Yogi also said it was beyond the American Right to see through the larger game unfolding before their own eyes. “These guys are so bloody ignorant about geography, yaar,” Yogi wailed about his American counterparts. “The only other country they know other than America and Canada is Israel probably. So it’s beyond them to figure out that Amal hails from a country called Lebanon in the Middle East and not from Lebanon County in Pennsylvania.”
