The Congress joined the growing chorus of condemnation of the BJP government’s ineptitude in not naming a single Congress big fish in the list of three revealed black money account holders.
“After Commonwealth, 2G, Coalgate, we have very high standards to live up to. Out battle scarred spokespersons were looking forward to a robust and professionally satisfying day of spindoctoring in the eager anticipation that a Congress big fish would be named. Instead, these nincompoops name three sideys,” a disappointed veteran Congress leader said. In fact, a glum Sanjay Jha even declined to participate in yesterday’s NewsHour, citing lack of professional satisfaction, before he was goaded to put in a token appearance.
Another leader said that leaking the name of Congress leader and Maharani of Patiala, Preneet Kaur, was the coup de grace. “At least do us the honour of dishonouring our real queen, Sonia ji. Why go after this poor lady? Why such petty mindedness?” he bemoaned.
A section of the Congress leadership feels that if the BJP govt continues to dither and embarrass all stakeholders in the black money probe, the Congress may have to take matters into its own hands. “We have initiated talks with Shri Arvind Kejriwal to conduct a professional expose of our top leaders in this regard,” a leader disclosed.
