A new post has appeared on online campaign site, change.org, petitioning UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to share the video file of the movie PK that he downloaded some time ago. The petition goes like this:
Petitioning UP CM Akhilesh Yadav:
@Akhilesh: Seed PK movie’s torrent. It’s a file SHARING community, Mr. CM
Two weeks back you downloaded PK movie via your BitTorrent client. You admitted it so yourself, as per this news report. However, you seem to have logged off BitTorrent after your file was downloaded, because the downloads of other users in this community have been crawling over the last two weeks. My own download of PK is stuck at 80% for the last two days. And I have an 8 mbps connection!
Let us remind you, Mr. CM, how this works. Torrent is a peer to peer file sharing network. Which means we SHARE illegal movie files, not just download them and disappear. It’s simply not ethical.
So set it right, Mr. CM. Log back in to your BitTorrent client, and seed PK, so that the rest of us can complete our downloads and enjoy the movie. It’s not enough that you declare it tax free in UP.
I am calling on fellow downloaders to sign my petition so that we can create public pressure and let Mr. Akhilesh Yadav know that he cannot get away with NOT seeding a movie he downloaded. Mr. Yadav, your image in the torrent community is on the line.
Sign my petition and share it with your friends.
At the time of writing, the petition had already received 400,404 signatures. The UP CM couldn’t be reached for comment.
